Bill has almost 40 years experience in the tech industry. He is known for his ability to bring teams together and bring great products to life.
At PayPal, Bill held numerous executive roles: leading engineering for Venmo (CTO), Consumer Engineering, Merchant Engineering and User Interface Engineering. He also led both Product and Engineering for the Identity and Next Gen Commerce teams.
Prior to PayPal, Bill led the Netflix UI Engineering team and experienced the full pivot from DVDs to streaming. He co-authored the O’Reilly book Designing Web Interfaces with Theresa Neil and has been a regular conference speaker on topics covering all aspects of design & engineering, giving over 100 talks to thousands of people.
He has broad experience consulting for startups and Fortune 500 companies. He co-wrote one of the first JavaScript libraries, launched the public design pattern library at Yahoo, and co-wrote one of the first games for the Macintosh in 1985. His industry experience spans gaming, wargaming, airlines, supply chain planning, operations research, telecommunications, education, entertainment and fin-tech to name just a few.
Bill is an active angel & real estate investor and lives in scenic Morgan Hill, CA. He enjoys family, photography, traveling and the beautiful outdoors.
Amanda Schwartz

Amanda is a strategy and operations executive, often referred to as a “Swiss army knife” for her ability to work cross-functionally to move mountains.
She regularly partners with executives and founders to help rescue struggling initiatives, reset toxic cultures and establish effective company and team-level operations. Amanda has spent the last 8 years leading strategic initiatives, organizational turnarounds and innovation efforts at PayPal.
Prior to this, Amanda worked at a number of startups, and even earlier, started her career in the music industry. Amanda grew up in her family business, which ultimately shapes her perspective on teams today.
Amanda is based in Southern California where she is an active angel investor, mentor to underestimated founders, and mother to two sons.
